CEO Message on Supplier Diversity
At Sysco, we recognize that a diverse and inclusive supply chain is critical to our success. Not only does it help us better understand and serve our diverse customer base, but it also helps us drive innovation, increase competitiveness, and create more equitable economic opportunities for all.
We work with diverse suppliers from various backgrounds and industries, including women-owned, minority-owned, LGBTQ-owned, veteran-owned, and businesses owned by individuals with a disability. By partnering with these businesses, we can create stronger relationships, foster new ideas and solutions, and drive positive social and economic impact.
Our procurement policies, which encourage using diverse suppliers, reflect our commitment to supplier diversity. We established partnerships with diverse business organizations to help them thrive and grow by offering training, resources, and support.
However, we know there is more work ahead of us. We will continue to improve our supplier diversity efforts, track and measure our progress, and hold ourselves accountable for making a meaningful impact.

Our Process
We are redefining what supplier diversity means to Sysco
Sysco’s Supplier Diversity process strives to be a best-in-class and mature example of supplier partnerships in practice and we find that our spending with diverse suppliers is trending in relation to the growth rate of the diverse population and to demonstrate this trend and we have made a few changes to reflect this trend.
We have changed from a program to a process to demonstrate that Supplier inclusion is an ongoing activity without an end-date and embedded in how we do business. We have broadened from minority and women to diverse suppliers to be more inclusive in how we define our diverse supplier base. We are also now more aligned to our purpose statement.
Diverse consumers are the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population and significantly influence how businesses connect with increasingly diverse customers. This change in U.S. demographics is similarly impacting our customers, their patrons and menu offerings, and as a result of these changes, we are developing plans to continue to evolve our supplier diversity process to meet the changing needs of the marketplace and our customers.

Our Supplier Diversity process is designed to ensure opportunities for diverse suppliers to effectively compete and participate in Sysco’s procurement process.
We are also committed to making it simple and easy for you to do business with the Sysco system. To help you do that, we have established a standardized registration process and supplier database for all participating entities throughout the Sysco system.

Sysco is committed to supplier diversity and offers a diverse supplier registration portal. To register your business as a Sysco diverse supplier or update an existing profile: click here
To view our operating site locations: click here. To engage at the local level, you will need to contact a local Operating Site in your area and speak with a Product Support Advisor.
* Registering your company does not guarantee any contracts, bid opportunities, RFPs nor does it qualify you as a Sysco supplier. It simply lets us know you are interested in partnering with Sysco and provides us with up-to-date information about your company.
Supplier Expectations:
• We prefer suppliers be certified through one of our preferred third-party certification agencies, 51% U.S. owned and operated by the specified diverse classification
• Suppliers must have a clear understanding of their product and/or service and how it relates to our business goals and objectives
• Suppliers must provide certification and liability insurance
• Suppliers are required to update and maintain certification records periodically

• NaVOBA
If the business is Veteran owned, Sysco recommends certification with the National Veteran-Owned Business Association. www.navoba.org
