Sysco is committed to helping end hunger in America. Almost 50 million Americans struggle to get food on the table. Currently, we serve area food banks, including the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank with surplus food products. In addition we support 412 Food Rescue Community Kitchen, Knead Community Café, Meals on Wheels of Cattaraugus Country and West Virginia, Focus Backpack Feeding Program, and Veteran’s Leadership Group.
Through our new Nourishing Neighbors program, we are making an additional commitment to help solve hunger right here in the communities we serve. A portion of every local Sysco Brand case sold will be donated to local charitable organizations. At least 75% of those donations will go toward charities that help feed people. In addition to providing financial support, we will also be supporting them with other resources through our associates. As we communicate to our Nourishing Neighbors partners and identify other areas we can serve, we will let you know of opportunities should you choose to participate. Every time our local customers buy Sysco Brand products, they will be helping to get healthy food to people in need in our community.
