Sysco is proud to be leading the industry with our science-based climate goal to significantly reduce emissions in our own operations by 27.5%. We'll do this by adding nearly 2,500 electric trucks to our U.S. fleet and sourcing 100% renewable electricity for our global operations by 2030.  To support this, we recently announced our intent to purchase nearly 800 electric Freightliner eCascadia tractors from Daimler Truck North America.

At the heart of our Purpose is a shared belief that everyone deserves a seat at the table. In FY2021, we accelerated our global efforts to create a more diverse workforce and equitable and inclusive culture, further positioning Sysco as an employer and partner of choice.

We have expanded our charitable giving goal to generate $500 million worth of good in our global communities by 2025! Our goal will be delivered in the form of food donations, associate volunteer time in our communities and financial support to hunger-relief organizations. In FY2021, Sysco contributed $58.9 USD in meal, volunteer time and cash donations.

By leveraging our size, scale and knowledge of best practices in responsible sourcing, we are addressing the challenge of deforestation within our agricultural supply chain. In FY2021, we released Sysco’s first Forests Report. This report outlines how we approach mitigating forest-related risks through assessment and engagement with our commodity suppliers.

This year we focused on socializing our Animal Welfare Policy for Suppliers with our associates, suppliers and customers and began to implement it across our U.S. supply chain.
