Diversity Internship Program


The Diversity Internship Program is a summer program that exposes highly motivated college students to Sysco, while simultaneously increasing Sysco’s diversity talent pipeline. It allows Sysco the ability to preview diverse college talent for potential future employment. Additionally, students build networks and gain relevant knowledge, skills and experience in the foodservice industry. Sysco’s internship program is specifically designed to allow students the ability to integrate academic theory and workplace experience. It is where the classroom intersects the business world.

The Diversity Internship Program generally commences in June and concludes in August for a total session of approximately ten (10) weeks. We partner with local and national colleges and universities to identify and source top diverse talent. Sysco also participates in intern career fairs and conferences as well as hosting on-site recruiting events. In 2009, we recruited students in the areas of Human Resources, Legal, Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Information Technology, Sales and Marketing. We are proud to report that many of previous interns have leveraged their internships in full-time positions at Sysco. Without a question, our internship program has been a tremendous success in helping us recruit the very best and brightest talent.
